BMW's Megacity Vehicle

Luxury car fans, start your engines — BMW’s very first electric vehicle is on its way. The Megacity Vehicle, set to be released in 2013, is made out of lightweight carbon fiber and aluminum and will be built from the ground up using the company’s “LifeDrive structure”, which is reportedly as strong as steel but 50% lighter than standard aluminum. In comparison, many other automakers base electric models on already-available gasoline-powered vehicles.
Among the other bits of information BMW has revealed: the car will offer a 35-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, and it will be sporty, stylish, and expensive (like most BMW luxury vehicles). Eventually, BMW hopes to release a plug-in hybrid version, which will likely have an electric-only range of 6 miles.
Beyond those few details, BMW is staying mum about the vehicle. Stay tuned — we’ll keep you updated as more details come to light.

Eager to see it in action. Got to wait until 2013.

Tree man, or man with wooden body!

Dede Koswara, better known as “tree man,” in his home village of Bandung, Java, Indonesia, where he is continuing treatment for his rare condition. Koswara spent much of his life covered in tree-like warts until he underwent surgery in 2008 to have over 4-pounds of them removed from his body.

Dede’s ordeal began when he was 15 and cut his knee in an accident. A small wart developed on his lower leg and spread uncontrollably. Eventually he had to give up work as a builder and fisherman, and scratch a living in a traveling freak show. His wife of ten years left him as it became impossible for him to support her and their two children. He had surgery, but tree on Dede body continue to grow in six months.
