Giant boa (snake) caught in china. Unbelivable size

The above photograph purporting to show a 55ft snake found in a forest in China has become an internet sensation. It was originally posted in a thread on the website of the People’s Daily, the official Communist Party newspaper in China.

The thread claimed the snake was one of two enormous boas found by workers clearing forest for a new road outside Guping city, Jiangxi province. They apparently woke up the sleeping snakes during attempts to bulldoze a huge mound of earth.

“On the third dig, the operator found there was blood amongst the soil, and with a further dig, a dying snake appeared,” said the post.

“By the time the workers came back, the wounded boa had died, while the other snake had disappeared. The bulldozer operator was so sick that he couldn’t even stand up.”
The post claimed that the digger driver was so traumatised that he suffered a heart attack on his way to hospital and later died.

The dead snake was 55ft (16.7m) long, weighed 300kg and was estimated to be 140 years old, according to the post. It is frustrating to see that most of the giant snakes that are caught end up dead in photos. People should learn to appreciate the beauty of nature and stop penetrating deeper forests, so that at least a few giant snakes that may be out there could be saved.

Cryptome, a website similar to WikiLeaks, later obtained the footage from an anonymous source and posted it online.

Blue Whales in Sri Lanka - Whale Watching

We know a very little about the magnificent creature ever to live on this planet, and it is quite surprising to find them in the very coasts of Sri Lanka. It was Sri Lanka Civil war that gave them the sanctuary to live peacefully, and now that the war is over, people have not got access to these areas. Hope tourism doesn't destroy this habitat. Need to have proper guidelines in place to preserve it so people can enjoy viewing the whales without endangering their existence.

Ultimate Loyalty: Japanese Dog Refuses to Leave Injured Friend Behind

translation courtesy of Toshiyuki Kitamura):
We are in Arahama area. Looks like there is a dog. There is a dog. He looks tired and dirty. He must have been caught in the tsunami. He looks very dirty.
He has a collar. He must be someone's pet. He has a silver collar. He is shaking. He seems very afraid.
Oh, there is another dog. I wonder if he is dead.
Where?
Right there. There is another dog right next to the one sitting down. He is not moving. I wonder. I wonder if he is alright.
The dog is protecting him.
Yes. He is protecting the dog. That is why he did not want us to approach them. He was trying to keep us at bay.
I can't watch this. This is a very difficult to watch.
Oh. Look. He is moving. He is alive. I am so happy to see that he is alive.
Yes! Yes! He is alive.
He looks to be weakened. We need to them to be rescued soon. We really want them rescued soon.
Oh good. He's getting up.
It is amazing how they survived the tremendous earthquake and tsunami. It's just amazing that they survived through this all.

Doll-faced Chinese girl reveals unaltered photos

The Korea Herald/Asia News Network
Seoul  — Photoshop works digital wonders, and one piece of striking evidence is illustrated in the unaltered photos of a Chinese girl who created an Asia-wide buzz with her picture-perfect image.
The newly revealed photos suggest that the widely circulated pictures showing her doll-like image with impeccable lines might have been highly edited and embellished.
The girl, named Wang Jiayun, emerged as an online celebrity overnight in Korea and elsewhere when the apparently beautified photos hit the Web communities.
Online users were particularly drawn to her almost “unreal” beauty, prompting a debate over whether the picture-perfect girl is a human or a doll.
Wang’s unrealistically large eyes, pale face, perfectly structured nose and extremely slim figure resemble a human-sized doll.
According to online news reports, Wang is a 17-year-old high school student in Shenzhen, China.
Many netizens who praised Wang’s Barbie doll appearance seemed disappointed in her due to the artificial photo editing.
Amid growing controversy, Wang has shut down her personal blog.
